Sabino Springs HOA

In early 2018 the Conservation Task Force of Sabino Springs HOA researched strategies for removing the buffelgrass that was invading our community. With guidance from John Scheuring, Chair of the Az. Native Plant Invasive Committee, six volunteers tackled a wash with five spray sessions from April until November. By Jan.2019, 14 new volunteers were recruited and trained. Our community of 500 homes surrounds the 18 hole Arizona National Golf Course which provided a highway for the spread of buffelgrass via golf cart paths. At the urging of the Task Force the course has started spraying the cart paths. Our Task Force will continue spraying common areas of our 430 acre community. Funds for supplies are secured via a 0.05 cent fee collected from each round of golf, $1 annually from each of 500 homes and $20 for every home sold.
